MEET THE TEAM: SCOTT CALAMUSA, REGIONAL SAFETY MANAGER

At Ceco, we seek to send every employee home at the end of their workday safe and sound. As part of our commitment to safe processes, we make every effort to put the right people in place to ensure safe techniques and behavior exists at every level of our company.
Our most recent hire, Scott Calamusa, comes to us with experience as both a construction laborer and as a health and safety professional. The New Orleans native has worked in several areas of the continent and in multiple areas of construction—including high-rise, heavy civil, institutional and industrial. For the past decade, his work has focused on project safety and health. Most recently, he served as the safety and compliance manager for McLean Taylor Construction.
As a Ceco Regional Safety Manager, Scott will be responsible for safety and health support in our Mideast, Northeast and Nashville districts, which include our Cincinnati (Ohio) and Hartford (Connecticut) offices. He is based out of our Nashville office in Tennessee. Learn more about Scott below:
What is the objective of your new position?
To provide compliance support for company activities and OSHA regulations. My first task is to increase my knowledge of formwork systems and provide guidance on correct procedures to ensure safe production. I’m looking forward to working with a safety team such as Ceco’s.
What vision do you bring to this role?
I will support my assigned districts and always maintain a high level of integrity and ethics. I know that trust is sometimes hard to obtain, but I will strive to earn the confidence of personnel in each district through my work ethic and ability to develop strong working relationships.
What personal expertise do you bring to your job?
I have firsthand knowledge and experience not only in concrete formwork, placing and finishing but also in the importance of following established safety standards and procedures.
For customers, what are the benefits of working with Ceco?
A commitment to safety that goes beyond Ceco employees to include customers and other trades on the jobsite. I have found that Ceco’s safety culture is very strong and highly developed.
What hobbies do you enjoy?
I enjoy cooking, hiking, learning, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
