Ceco Concrete Construction, LLC, a nationwide design-assist structural concrete contractor, completed this 8-level concrete acute care hospital tower using the wide module structural system. The wide module provided the owner a more rigid and structure that will be more flexible to future changes than a steel or post-tensioned frame. The wide module also reduces schedule and cost and also allows the owner better infection control with no fireproofing to track aspergillus.
Ceco also worked on the lower 4 levels at the same time (stair stepping) to allow the general contractor time to deal with complicated unknown underground conditions and keep the concrete moving.
