The Link at Uptown

Dallas, Texas

The Link at Uptown is a 24-story, Class AA office building that connects the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas to two vibrant areas: Victory Park and downtown Dallas. The structure is a 12-level office building stacked on top of a 13-level garage. It is strategically designed to curve along restrictive site boundaries while its height provides stunning views of the city from every office floor. The ground floor features a lobby, two restaurants, and a covered drop-off area. On the 12th floor, a sky lounge and outdoor terrace provide nearly 20,000 square feet of amenity space, including a fitness center, meeting rooms, indoor/outdoor tenant lounge, and pop-up lunch options.

Construction began December 2019. Ceco provided the concrete frame with our client Balfour Beatty providing the materials, which included pumping, placing, and finishing all concrete for the 650,000-sq-ft building. The Link’s structural system is wide-module, one-way concrete pan construction, which enabled the greater spans and design flexibility necessary for the curved structure. The building’s structurally braced frame eliminated the need for shear walls to provide lateral support.

The Ceco team followed a seven-day cycle to complete every office floor, with typical floors measuring about 25,000 square feet. Ceco engineers and field forces customized the Ceco-owned longform pan formwork system to maintain the schedule and production. Other formwork systems used included CEFCO perimeter tables and interior beam tables at the beams and girders. Because of the site’s close proximity to downtown streets, Ceco also used a debris netting system to catch objects from falling and striking vehicles and pedestrians below.

The Link at Uptown provides a beautiful and luxurious new office address for Uptown Dallas businesses. The building’s unique glazed façade sweeps along the curve of Harry Hines Boulevard, taking maximum advantage of the tight site footprint.
